  • Dr. Conrady is a clinician-researcher specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of uveitis and other infectious and inflammatory eye diseases. He also provides medical and surgical treatment of retinal diseases, including retinal detachments, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dislocated intraocular lenses.

    He is accepting new patients at the Moran Eye Center鈥檚 university location.

    Dr. Conrady earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and completed a residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine and John A. Moran Eye Center.

    He completed a uveitis fellowship at the Moran Eye Center before heading to the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center for a surgical retina fellowship. These fellowships included training in repairing retinal detachments and dislocated lenses and the medical and surgical management of intraocular infections and lymphoma.

    He previously held a clinical and research faculty appointment at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. For his research pursuits, he earned a new investigator award and a physician-scientist award and was elected to the Council of Vision Editors fellowship and the prestigious Retina Society. He has served as a site principal investigator or sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials.

    At the University of Utah, he will also serve as principal investigator for a laboratory studying inflammatory eye diseases, such as acute retinal necrosis, a blinding herpes virus infection of the retina. His research interests include understanding the underlying genetic predisposition and early immune responses to viral infections of the retina to identify therapeutic targets and improve visual outcomes of acute retinal necrosis. He is also interested in advancing diagnostics and treatment protocols for endophthalmitis and other diseases characterized by intraocular inflammation.

    He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and served as a reviewer for multiple scientific journals. He currently serves as a Basic and Clinical Science Course writer for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
