  • Laura has been a Physician Assistant since 2007, graduating from Wichita State University in Kansas. She has worked at the University of Utah Hospital for the entirety of her career starting with Cardiothoracic Surgery for 1 year, Vascular Surgery for 6 years and currently with Orthopaedic Surgery with the Adult Joint Reconstruction Team. She is thrilled about being a part of the care of Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction patients and working with the Department of Orthopaedics. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Laura was born and raised in San Diego, California. She went to Kansas State University where she played Women's Volleyball and was a part of the Big 12 Championship Team in 2003. She loves being in the Wasatch Mountains: trail running, skiing and biking and being with her family.

I first seeing Dr Wood for my knees 2 years ago, she is very down to earth and friendly and did a great job with my knees. She was also the one that took the time to look at my hips and talked to me about how my hip could be causing some of the pain in my knees. Dr Wood has been very helpful and supportive providing all the information I needed to help me make my decision to get my hip replacement. On a scale of one to ten I would give her a 12
